DOTGUESS

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

This policy covers the DotGuess website and Android game, “DotGuess: Trust Your Eyes”. Contact the developer at help.dotguess@gmail.com.

What information we use

The app does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location or advertising identifier.

Why we use it

We use this information to provide the game, save results, run challenges and rankings, prevent duplicate submissions, fix faults and answer support requests. We use aggregate website visit and gameplay counts to understand usage, without analytics cookies or links to guest profiles.

Where a legal basis is required, we process information necessary to deliver the service you request. Security, troubleshooting and support serve our legitimate interest in operating a reliable game and helping users, subject to your rights.

Sharing and service providers

People with access to a Friends challenge can see participants’ nicknames and results. Sharing a result sends the text and link to the service you choose.

Hetzner hosts the game server in the European Union. Google provides our Gmail support inbox and the web game’s fonts. Font requests send connection information to Google; the Android app includes its fonts locally. Google Play and Android also operate under their own policies. Providers may process information outside your country. See Google’s policy and Hetzner’s privacy information.

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.

Storage and retention

We use encrypted connections and restrict access to stored data and backups.

Backups are replaced on a rolling basis. Deleted data may remain in restricted recovery copies until those copies are replaced or removed.

Your choices

To request access, correction or deletion, email help.dotguess@gmail.com. Include your nickname and challenge or Daily date if available. We may ask for information to locate your records and verify ownership. Do not send passwords or authentication cookies.

Clearing local data or uninstalling the app does not delete server records. After verifying a deletion request, we remove associated personal records unless limited retention is legally required or necessary for security; we will explain any exception.

Depending on your location, you may also request restriction of processing, object to processing, receive a portable copy, or complain to a data protection authority. Parents or guardians can contact us about a child’s information.

Updates

We will revise this page when our practices change and provide any required notice or choices before new processing begins.
